Kartarpur was a place of immense religious significance for the Sikh community and the step of the Pakistani government to promote religious tolerance was a huge step towards positive change that Nippon got to play its part in. The historical building is located at the border between India and Pakistan and is a symbol of friendship between the two nations.

Not only this, but at Kartarpur 18,000 sqft. flag of Pakistan was painted which is the largest ever. The Government was time-sensitive and wanted to open the corridors as soon as possible hence time was the most important challenge for us that we easily dealt with our Express kote based on which we were granted this contract. The Kartarpur corridor leads from the border straight to the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur, 4km (2.5 miles) away holding great religious significance for the Sikh community. It is considered to be the second holiest site initially the Sikhs who wanted to visit the shrine had to obtain a Pakistani visa and follow a circuitous route to Lahore city, more than 100km from Kartarpur. Given the long historical tension between India and Pakistan, the step by the Pakistani Government to ease the entrance of the Sikh pilgrims and opening of this corridor is a step toward peace and religious tolerance encouraging the community towards a positive change. This was a great initiative as it encouraged religious tolerance as well as helped to bridge the gap between two nations and Nippon Paint tried to play its role in the promotion of peace building. We gained sales of 2.7 million of our star product Express kote and proved that we create solutions through innovation. It also generated 48 million in total sales. Key learnings of this were, the innovation is something that needs to be done continuously and due to the innovative efforts of our Malaysia group we were able to become part of bringing this positive change as a step towards promoting harmony and peace.
